Speed Is Their Actual Pitch

Swyft Filings built its reputation on turnaround, and the name is not decoration. Owners who have used the company for filing work generally describe things moving quickly, and for a founder in a hurry that is a real product attribute. We are not here to argue that the service is slow or careless, because we have no evidence of either.

$149 Is a Quarterly Number

Registered agent service is quoted at $149. The unit is three months. Four charges land in a year, which annualizes to roughly $596, and no first-year discount surfaced when we checked.

Every part of that is disclosed. The issue is presentational. A quarterly figure competes in your head against annual figures from every other vendor, so $149 next to $99 reads like a small premium rather than a six-times one. The comparison only works after you multiply, and the checkout has no reason to multiply on your behalf.

Maine Bills Once, and So Do We

There is a rhythm to compliance in this state, and it is annual. One report, due June 1, with the window open from January 1. One fee, $85 for a domestic LLC. A late filing adds a flat $50 penalty under 31 M.R.S. § 1680. Nothing about operating a Maine LLC happens quarterly.

Our billing matches the state's cadence because there is no reason for it not to. $99 once a year, renewing at $99. Same-day scanning of anything served on us, email alerts, the portal, a public agent line carrying our Maine address rather than your own, and a reminder before June 1. If you want ordinary business mail scanned too, that runs $15 an item and is the only optional charge in the account.

On the cheapness question, the honest version: BetterLegal publishes $90, which puts us among the lowest flat annual rates in Maine rather than at the outright bottom. Against roughly $596 the distinction barely moves the decision, but we would rather state it than have you discover it.

Swyft Filings Out, in Two Sentences and a Link

Maine wants Form CLK/RA 3 and $35, mailed to the Division of Corporations, UCC and Commissions under the Maine Secretary of State, with $50 next-day or $100 same-day handling on offer if you are in a rush. The full procedure lives on our change of agent page.
